Zanzibar taxi and airport transfer prices

Every price below is for the whole car, not per person, and covers up to 5 passengers with luggage. Private and air conditioned, no sharing and no waiting. The price is agreed on WhatsApp before you fly and does not change when you land.

From the airport

Zanzibar Airport is on the west of the island, ten minutes from Stone Town and about an hour from most beach hotels. We meet you inside the arrivals hall with your name on a board.

Changing hotel

Moving between beaches mid-trip. These cross the island rather than running in from the airport, which is why a few of them cost more than the airport run.

Back to Stone Town

For a last night in town, the ferry to Dar es Salaam, or a flight out. The same prices run in the other direction.

Worth knowing

• The price is per car. Four people pay the same as one, so a group splitting a taxi pays very little each.
• One car carries up to 5 passengers with luggage. A larger group needs a second car or a minibus, which we will price for you.
• We accept US dollars, euros and Tanzanian shillings. Nothing is paid online.
• Airport pick-ups are met inside the arrivals hall with your name on a board. Send us your flight number and we track the flight, so a delay costs you nothing.
• A route not listed here is not a route we refuse. Message us and we will price it, usually within the hour.
